5,000 Year Old Microbrewery!

Now this is recipe I hope to see in next year's Marin County Fair!  We'll, there isn't really much of a recipe but an ingredient list.  I appreciate the hypothesis of the sweetening of the brew to balance the sourness that was likely present.  Perhaps the sours of today needn't be so dry?

Stillwater Artisanal is a nomadic ‘gypsy’ brewing venture headed by Baltimore native Brian Strumke. Formerly an internationally renowned techno DJ and producer, Strumke originated as a home brewer and quickly made his mark in the community for his often odd concoctions and unconventional brewing methods. Much to the intrigue and enjoyment of judges, competitions quickly yielded wins in more esoteric categories, with his use of herbs, spices and wild yeasts.
In 2010, after five short years of backyard brewing, Strumke had taken Stillwater Artisanal to the public. By utilizing excess brewing capacity around the globe, he now travels the world handcrafting unique artisan beers. Within it’s first year, Stillwater Artisanal was ranked #2 in the “Best New Brewers In the World” category by international beer rating resource RateBeer.com. Building on this esteemed first-year accolade, Stillwater has remained in the global ‘Top 100’ ever since.
Brian Strumke, with his world travels, has collected some amazing stories that he will be sharing with us here at Terrapin on the bar stage.

I don't know that any club members will be there, Ron might (thank you for the info!).  So if you do go, keep an eye out for club members!

Petaluma Hills Brewing - Giving back to Homebrewers!

This Thursday, March 31, 2016, we roll out our new Homebroots Program, where we give homebrewers a chance to get their craft beer in front of our taproom customers. It's a chance to give back to the homebrewing community we came from while always reminding us of our homebrew roots. Read more about it at petalumahills.com/homebroots and be sure to stop by the taproom this coming Thursday for HopLabs Baby on the Way IPA!

Thanks for the heads up Pablo!
